Account level custom fields are specific to an individual client account, these fields are values that remain unchanged in the Real Magnet account. An example of this usage may be if there is a field that should be appended on every message that does not change, i.e. a link to an invoice.

To enable Account Level Custom Fields have your account’s admin contact Real Magnet’s Support Team.

Permissions

Account Level Custom Fields may be managed by any user with access to the account. Existing fields will obey any and all Enterprise rules.

Configuration

Once you have your fields setup, it is important to note the order the fields are in, as that will determine the keyword used to drop it in a message. The syntax is:

INSERT_ACCOUNT_LEVEL_CUSTOMFIELD_001 where the 001 is the counter that indicates the account custom field you want, which  is determined by the order the fields are in. So, for the following setup:

Field Name: Invoice Field 1 is INSERT_ACCOUNT_LEVEL_CUSTOMFIELD_001
Field Name: Invoice Field 2 is INSERT_ACCOUNT_LEVEL_CUSTOMFIELD_002

Using Account Level Custom Fields

Once configuration is completed, you will then be able to insert this field in a message or a template and the values will be replaced upon sending.

Troubleshooting

Below are some common problems encountered when working with Account Level Custom Fields.

Why was there an incorrect value? 

Did you update the field? Custom fields are all tied to the recipient, so whenever someone makes an update to that field for that recipient, whatever value we have at the time of send will be the value inserted.  A great way to prevent incorrect values is to utilize enhanced personalization and setting your fields to private.

Why was there a blank value? 

Did you update the field, or was the value blank in your CSV file? Custom fields are all tied to the recipient, so whenever someone makes an update to that field for that recipient, whatever value we have at the time of send will be the value inserted.  A great way to prevent empty values is to utilize the default personalization tool by going to Contacts > Custom Fields > Personalization and inserting a default value.
