Skip Logic is another name for conditional branching. It means that if a respondent answers a question in a certain way then they can automatically “Skip” certain questions within the survey. This can be best explained by example:
|1||Are you planning a vacation in the next 6 months?||Yes||No|
|2||Is this a family vacation?||Yes||No|
|3||Will you bring any pets?||Yes||No|
|4||Do all those travelling have passports?||Yes||No|
|5||Are you planning on buying a new house in the next 6 months?||Yes||No|
If a respondent answers “Yes” to the first questions, “Are you planning a vacation in the next 6 months”, then questions 2-4 are very relevant. If on the other hand the respondent answers “No” to the first question then there is no reason to even display questions 2-4. Rather that respondent automatically “Skips” to question # 5.
